Putin emphasizes cooperation on developing Northern Sea Route to unlock Russia’s potential

"Development of this critical transport corridor will make it possible for Russia to further unlock its export potential and establish an efficient logistical route, even to Northeast Asia," the Russian leader said

NOVO-OGAREVO, November 22. /TASS/. Building up the Northern Sea Route will make it possible to further unlock Russia's export potential, and, it is ready to cooperate with all interested countries, President Vladimir Putin said at a flag-raising ceremony to launch the Ural icebreaker and the Yakutia icebreaker.

"Development of this critical transport corridor [the Northern Sea Route - TASS] will make it possible for Russia to further unlock its export potential and establish an efficient logistical route, even to Northeast Asia. By the way, we are open for cooperation with our partners - with those who want to work with Russia," the head of state said.

All these plans will materialize, despite the current challenges, President Putin noted. "We will step up the capabilities of our nuclear-powered icebreaker fleet to do so. And, as a matter of principle, this should be done through the use of Russian developments and production facilities, using domestic equipment and components. This is what is happening," Putin said.
