BEIJING, June 29. /TASS/. The headquarters building of the International Energy Exchange in Hainan province (South China) was commissioned in Haikou city (the administrative center of the region), the Hainan Daily reported.

According to the article, the exchange is located in the Jiangdong District, and is the first headquarters built there. Construction has been underway since 2019. The 17-story building has a total area of more than 63,000 square meters.

The building is shaped like four rectangular modules built in the form of a tower. There are two hanging gardens of about 300 square meters on the facade of each of them. Employees do not need to present passes to enter the building - a special robot, which identifies them using facial recognition, allows them to do so.

The facade of the building is made in the form of a transparent two-layer membrane, which, with the help of sunlight sensors and built-in actuators, can regulate the level of light inside. This technology will allow the temperature and light levels inside the building to change throughout the day, allowing for lower energy costs.

The volume of transactions on the Hainan Energy Exchange is increasing every year. At the end of 2020 their total volume will exceed 100 billion yuan (about $14.9 billion), and in 2021 - 300 billion yuan (about $44.78 billion).

The Jiangdong District currently has 123 projects under construction, with 24 of them totaling more than 1 billion yuan (about $149 million) in investments.
