MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has arrested a previously convicted man, recruited by Ukraine’s special services, for planning a terrorist attack in a Moscow office building.
"The FSB’s department in Moscow has arrested a Russian national born in 1972, with prior convictions, who planned to detonate an improvised explosive device in a crowded area in the interests of Ukraine’s special services," the FSB told TASS.
The suspect recounted that in February he was recruited by Ukraine’s special services and took from a stash an improvised explosive device with a timer for planting it in a Moscow office building, according to the FSB. His handler had promised him safe exit for Ukraine where he would have joined hostilities against Russian forces.
The attacker has confessed and is currently making statements. A criminal case has been launched.
