Armenia accepts adoption of CSTO documents despite being absent from summit — Kremlin

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said earlier that Yerevan had suspended its participation in the CSTO because in its view, the organization had created threats to the country’s sovereignty

MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. Armenia will not take part in the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s (CSTO) summit in Astana on November 28 but Yerevan has no objections to the adoption of the proposed documents, Kremlin Aide Yury Ushakov said at a briefing.

"Armenia will not take part in the meeting but its representatives said in advance that they had no objections to the summit adopting the documents that had already been agreed on," he pointed out.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said earlier that Yerevan had suspended its participation in the CSTO because in its view, the organization had created threats to the country’s sovereignty. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at an international security forum in Warsaw that Yerevan was calculating all risks related to a potential withdrawal from the CSTO. However, Armenia has not made specific decisions to leave the organization.
