MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. The cybersecurity situation in the world looks appalling and the number of cyberattacks is unprecedentedly high, Russian special representative for international cooperation in the field of information security, Andrei Krutskikh, said in an expert discussion called Information War in the Cyberspace: a Fake or Reality on the platform of the discussion club Valdai.
"More than 70 million attacks are launched against Russia’s government resources from abroad. This is not a world record. The rate of attacks between China and the United States is still higher. The situation is appalling. I can say it is cyber outrage," Krutskikh said.
"To do credit to US political scientists I can say that of late they ever more often initiate international debates over one very crucial theme: malicious use of cyber-technologies may in fact trigger real war, even nuclear," he added.
