CAR wants more Russian military instructors on its territory, ambassador says

"Russian instructors did for our country in one year what Western military, American or French, failed to do in ten years," CAR Ambassador to Russia Leon Dodonu-Punagaza said

VLADIMIR, April 21. /TASS/. The Central African Republic (CAR) is interested in increasing the number of Russian military instructors on its territory, CAR Ambassador to Russia Leon Dodonou-Pounagaza told TASS during foreign ambassadors’ visit to the Vladimir Region.

"Russian instructors did for our country in one year what Western military, American or French, failed to do in ten years. So I’m very glad and we would like for [their] number to increase," he said.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Russia dispatched 300 additional instructors to train CAR national army servicemen under request from CAR authorities for aid in repelling illegal militants. There over 500 Russian instructors and advisors working in this country. The Foreign Ministry repeatedly stated that Russian instructors stay in the republic legally and continue training the national army of this country.
