Russian ships fire warning shots ahead of British destroyer near border — Defense Ministry

According to the Ministry, the British destroyer was warned about the use of force in case of violation of the Russian border, but there was no reaction

MOSCOW, June 23. /TASS/. Russian border control ships had to fire warning shots in order to prevent a violation of the Russian border by a British destroyer near Crimea, Russian Defense Ministry said Wednesday.

"A border control guard ship fired warning shots at 12:06 and 12:08," the Ministry said in its statement. 

According to the Ministry, the British destroyer was warned about the use of force in case of violation of the Russian border.

"It did not react to the warning," the Ministry said.
