US involved in at least two conflicts in which reporters knowingly killed — news outlet

US journalist Max Blumenthal believes that America is "in complete moral free fall"

WASHINGTON, March 27. /TASS/. The United States is at least indirectly involved in two major armed conflicts in the world in which Washington's allies or partners, including Kiev, deliberately kill journalists, independent US journalist and The Grayzone news portal editor Max Blumenthal told a TASS correspondent.

Commenting on the deaths of Russian war correspondents as a result of the Ukrainiain shelling, he said: "The United States is involved at least indirectly, in two of the world's major conflicts where journalists are being deliberately targeted and killed by US allies or proxies. In the [West's] Ukraine proxy war, Russian journalists are now being targeted and killed by the Ukrainian armed forces in increasing numbers, often while marked as journalists with, for example, press written on their vehicles."

"And in the Gaza Strip, where the Trump administration has green lit Israel's shattering of the ceasefire deal to resume its brutal military assault, Israel has deliberately assassinated Al Jazeera journalist Hossam Shabbat, falsely claiming that he is a Hamas militant, and is now inciting or seeking to justify the murder of Shabbat's colleague, Anas Al Sharif, who also works for Al Jazeera, in a conflict where over 200 journalists have been killed," Blumenthal said.

"And this is all being carried out thanks to the weaponry, diplomatic support and often targeting support provided by the country that claims to uphold the banner of protecting press freedom around the world, the United States, which is now in complete moral free fall," The Grayzone editor emphasized.
