BRUSSELS, December 16. /TASS/. The European Union has added 16 individuals, as well as Russian companies and organizations to the sanctions list, according to a resolution of the EU Council published in the EU's Official Journal.
According to the Council's wording, the sanctions were imposed for "hybrid actions" that the EU considers to be "directed against the European Union, EU countries, international organizations and third countries.
The list of individuals includes Russian officials, businessmen and "GRU officers". The list of legal entities includes the African Initiative news agency, the Pan-African Group for Trade and Investment (Groupe Panafricain pour le Commerce et l'Investissement, GPCI), registered in the West African country of Togo, and a certain "GRU unit."
The EU also included Gazpromflot CEO Yuyi Shamalov and Gazstroyprom CEO Nikolay Tkachenko in the 15th sanctions package.
The state concern Donbas Development Corporation has also fallen under EU sanctions, as well as Utair airline, Gazprom Flot, Gazprom LNG Technologies.
More than half of the blacklist of 54 individuals under the 15th package of sanctions against Russia consisted of 29 Russian servicemen, whom the EU accuses of allegedly striking the Okhmatdet hospital in Kiev. The list also includes North Korean Defense Minister No Kwang-chol and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the DPRK Kim Yong Bok, Head of Russia’s Mordovia Artem Zdunov, singer Larisa Dolina, a businessman from China and one from the Netherlands, and several Russian officials and entrepreneurs.
