MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Retail trade turnover in Russia in February 2024 increased by 12.3% year-on-year and reached 4.025 trillion rubles ($44 bln), in January - February retail sales increased by 10.7% to 7.968 trillion rubles ($87.12 bln), according to the Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat).
In February, 96.2% of retail trade turnover was formed by trading organizations and individual entrepreneurs operating outside the market, while the share of retail markets and fairs reached 3.8% (in February 2023 - 95.5% and 4.5%, respectively).
The share of food products, including drinks, and tobacco products was 48.3%, non-food products - 51.7% (in February last year - 49.5% and 50.5%, respectively) in the structure of retail trade turnover.
According to Rosstat, online sales of large and medium-sized companies in February increased by 2.6% compared to January 2024, and by 41.9% compared to February last year. The share of online sales in the total retail turnover of these organizations increased to 12.6% compared to 10.6% in February 2023.
