Sweden to fund Ukraine's production of long-range missiles, drones

Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson added that the details of the new aid package would be announced in January

STOCKHOLM, November 22. /TASS/. The Swedish government has decided to allocate two 25-bln-krona ($2.25 bln) tranches in military assistance to Kiev in 2025-2026, Sweden's Defense Minister Pal Jonson said.

In addition, the Nordic country’s cabinet is ready to fund the mass production of long-range missiles and drones by the Ukrainian defense industry.

"They will be manufactured in Ukraine by the domestic defense industry but they will be funded by Sweden," Jonson told a press conference following talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov.

The Swedish defense chief added that the details of the new aid package would be announced in January.

According to the Swedish cabinet, Stockholm has so far allocated 57.4 bln kronas in aid to Ukraine, with 48.4 bln kronas spent on military assistance.
