In February, aid deliveries to Gaza dropped by 50%

CAIRO, March 11. /TASS/. No more than 168 trucks carrying humanitarian aid were able to enter the Gaza Strip in a single day this month, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported.

"Average 168 aid trucks per day crossing into #GazaStrip so far in March," the agency said on its X page.

The agency also reported that 155 medical facilities and 32 hospitals in the enclave are damaged, and 53 medical facilities are non-functional "due to hostilities or shortages of medicine."

In February, aid deliveries to Gaza dropped by 50%. According to UNRWA assessments, about 98 trucks carrying humanitarian aid crossed were entering the enclave in February.

The situation in the Middle East sharply escalated following an incursion of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israel on October 7. Israel has declared a complete siege of the Gaza Strip and started a military operation there. Israel also strikes parts of Lebanon and Syria in retaliation for bombardments originating from these countries. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
