Zelensky slaps sanctions on Russian senators from new regions — decree

Ukrainian President has imposed sanctions for ten years

MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has imposed sanctions for ten years against legislators from the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions at the Federation Council (the upper house of Russia’s parliament), according to his decree published on the Ukrainian president’s website on Saturday.

According to the decree, the sanctions are imposed against Darya Lantratova, senator from the LPR, Konstantin Basyuk, senator from the Kherson Region, and Dmitry Vorona, senator from the Zaporozhye Region.

The senator from the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) is Natalia Nikonorova, who previously served as the DPR foreign minister. She has been under Ukraine’s sanctions for long, so her name is not included in Saturday’s decree.
