Russian rescuers find $150,000 in rubble of residential building in Turkey

It is reported that $150,000 was found and handed over to the local police for inventory

TASS, February 14. Russian rescuers found a pot containing $150,000 while clearing the rubble in an apartment building in Turkey, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said on its Telegram channel on Tuesday.

"During the search and rescue effort while clearing the rubble in an apartment building in Turkey, Russian rescuers found a large sum of money," the statement said. The rescuers clarified that in the process of removing another layer of rubble they discovered a pot filled with hundred-dollar banknotes.

It is reported that $150,000 was found and handed over to the local police for inventory.

The earthquakes in south-east Turkey on February 6 left 31,643 people dead and more than 80,000 injured, with over 6,400 buildings destroyed. The rescue and clean-up efforts in the disaster-hit areas are ongoing.
