South Ossetia counts only on Russia amid global instability — top diplomat

Akhsar Dzhioyev also thanked Russia for its large-scale social and economic assistance to South Ossetia

TSKHINVAL, November 1. /TASS/. South Ossetia counts only on Russia and its armed forces amid the instable international situation, South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioyev said on Tuesday at a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in Moscow.

"Amid the instable international situation, we can rely on a friend, on a friendly country and we see only Russia and its armed forces deployed in South Ossetia as such. Thank you for reiterating Russia’s commitment to its obligations under our agreements," he said.

The South Ossetian top diplomat stressed that it is important for his country that its security and stability are guaranteed by such a reliable partner as Russia. He also thanked Russia for its large-scale social and economic assistance to South Ossetia.
