MOSCOW, August 25. /TASS/. Three servicemen of the Syrian Arab Republic have sustained serious wounds intercepting terrorists’ attempt to break through onto the territory controlled by the government’s forces from the At-Tanf zone controlled by the US-led coalition, Oleg Yegorov, deputy chief of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Opposing Parties in Syria, told reporters on Thursday.

"On August 25, 2022, at 00:10, in the vicinity of Al Ulayyaniyah (66 km south of Palmyra), the militants of the Maghaweir al-Thowra armed group on two pickup trucks with large-caliber machine guns attempted to break through from the At-Tanf region controlled by the US-led international coalition onto the territory controlled by the Syrian government. As a result of an armed clash between the members of the group and Syria’s armed forces, three militants were eliminated. Three Syrian servicemen sustained serious wounds," he said.

The military official stressed that the incident yet again demonstrated the inability of the US-led coalition to establish control over At-Tanf and intercept terror attacks.

According to his information, in the Aleppo Province, one Syrian serviceman was also wounded when the terrorists shelled the positions of the government’s forces.
