Production of coronavirus vaccines suspended since November 2021, says ministry

The vaccines will be partially exported and partially supplied to the domestic market, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Osmakov said

ST. PETERSBURG, June 15. /TASS/. Russian producers suspended the production of coronavirus vaccines in November 2021, with 100 mln doses at stock, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Osmakov told TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"They stopped the production in November," he said, adding that "100 mln doses are at stock."

The vaccines will be partially exported and partially supplied to the domestic market, Osmakov said. The producers also extend expiry dates of vaccines, he added.

Earlier, a number of Russian pharmaceutical companies announced suspension of the production of vaccines against the coronavirus infection.
