DPR negotiating its recognition with several countries — DPR top diplomat

According to DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova, the result is expected soon

DONETSK, May 29. /TASS/. The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) is in talks with several countries on its recognition, the result will soon be seen, DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova told TASS on Sunday.

"The result is expected soon," she said. "You will see it literally next week."

Following a dramatic deterioration of the situation in Donbass on February 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 21 announced a decision to recognize the sovereignty of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s. The treaties of friendship, cooperation and mutual aid were signed with their leaders. On May 6, DPR leader Denis Pushilin appointed Olga Makeyeva as the republic’s ambassador to Russia.

On May 12, Makeyeva said she had met with representatives of foreign ministries from several countries and they had expressed readiness to cooperate with the DPR and establish diplomatic relations with it.
