Ukrainian negotiator announces papers in the works for highest-level talks

According to Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Mikhail Podolyak, "direct talks between the two presidents" are needed to settle the conflict in Ukraine

KIEV, March 16. /TASS/. Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Mikhail Podolyak announced preparation of a number of documents that could be discussed with Russia at the highest level.

According to the official, "direct talks between the two presidents" are needed to settle the conflict in Ukraine.

"This is the issue that we are working on during the peace talks. We are working on a set of papers that the two presidents would be able to discuss and sign in the future," Podolyak said in an interview for US media, published on his Telegram channel Wednesday.

According to the official, this can happen soon.

He also expressed his certainty that a ceasefire will be negotiated in the upcoming days.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the meeting between Putin and Zelensky is not ruled out, but warned that "first, delegations and ministers must complete their part of the work so that the two presidents could meet not for the sake of process and talk, but for results."
