The French leader said he is glad to have an opportunity to speak with his Russian counterpart

BUENOS AIRES, November 30. /TASS/. Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Emmanuel Macron of France had a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Group of Twenty summit in Argentina on Friday. The two leaders focused on the situation in Ukraine and Syria.

The French leader said he is glad to have an opportunity to speak with his Russian counterpart as there are many problems he wants to discuss. "Thus, it concerns the situation in Syria. We see that after he very useful meeting in Istanbul the situation has changed. It also concerns the situation in Ukraine, especially in the light of the developments of the recent days," Macron said, adding that he would like to discuss with Putin the implementation of the Minsk agreements, issues of cybersecurity, and the general architecture of security in Europe.

The Russian leader warmly greeted his French counterpart and invited him to speak about bilateral relations. "Last year, bilateral trade went up by 16.5% and the same upwards dynamics are observed this year," he stressed.
