Consulate in Shanghai expects recovery of Russia’s attractiveness for Chinese tourists

It is reported that group tourist trips between Russia and China take place within the framework of provisions of the relevant bilateral intergovernmental agreement

SHANGHAI, February 8. /TASS/. The Russian Consulate-General in Shanghai believes that Russia will again be in the ranks of top destinations for tourists from China after abolishment of coronavirus restrictions, Consul General Dmitry Lukyantsev told TASS on Wednesday.

"We expect that Russia will again become one of the most attractive and sought-after destinations for tourists from East China after cancellation of restrictions. China restarted tourist trips for organized groups of Chinese nationals to twenty countries, including Russia, in a pilot mode from February 6. This can only be welcomed because the potential of our country in this sphere is almost enormous. At the same time, group tourist trips between our countries take place within the framework of provisions of the relevant bilateral intergovernmental agreement and do not require issuance of visas in overseas consular institutions of Russia and China," the diplomat said.
