MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. Brazilian-born German striker Kevin Kuranyi announced on Thursday his decision to part with Russia’s Dinamo Moscow football club, where he played for the last five years, following the end of the 2014/2015 season.
"I have decided against extending my contract with Dinamo," the 33-year-old football player wrote on his web page. "This was not an easy decision because the club, its staff, my teammates, this city and this country became very dear for my heart."
These five years were very special for me," Kuranyi wrote. "I am grateful not only for the experience I have gained here but to my new friends and acquaintances."
"My family wants to return to Germany very much. I would also like to continue my career in the German championship. But no matter what we wish it is very difficult to make predictions in football," the German footballer wrote.
Kuranyi came to Dinamo Moscow FC in summer of 2010 and played 145 matches for the club having scored a total of 56 goals. In the 2014/2015 Russian Championship he played 19 matches and scored 10 goals.
Kuranyi was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1982 to Panamanian mother and Hungarian father. He started playing football in Brazil at the age of six and qualified to playe for the national teams of Brazil and Panama, but eventually he opted to play for Germany, where he moved to 1997.
He played for the German national team between 2003 and 2008, having scored 19 goals in 52 matches as part of the national squad.
