Putin praises Games of the Future as singular event in world sports

Competitions will be held in new disciplines and use the latest technologies, take place in digital environment, while physical activity will also be part of the blend

KAZAN, February 21. /TASS/. The international tournament called the Games of the Future is a singlular event in the history of global sports, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the tournament’s opening ceremony.

"An international tournament built around the phygital concept is a unique story for the modern history of world sports. And this story is beginning right here, right now, in Russia," he said.

The Games of the Future will last until March 3. Competitions will be held in new disciplines and use the latest technologies, take place in digital environment, while physical activity will also be part of the blend. Competitors will make use of the latest achievements in cybersports, robotics, augmented and virtual reality, information technology and artificial intelligence.
