AI to help, not replace doctors, teachers — Putin

The Russian leader pointed out that there was a symbiotic relationship between next-generation technologies and humans in various fields

MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. AI technology cannot replace humans but can come in handy in their work, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Artificial intelligence will not replace medical workers and teachers. However, it can be a reliable and effective aid for them," he pointed out at an AI conference.

Putin explained that AI technology could give teachers more time to educate children and could also help doctors identify diseases at an early stage, as well as monitor patients remotely.

The head of state pointed out that there was a symbiotic relationship between next-generation technologies and humans in various fields. According to Putin, it is a key resource for businesses and the government, which can help them become highly effective.

By using generative artificial intelligence, companies can customize goods and services for specific consumers. "Undoubtedly, such breakthrough solutions pave the way for developing an entire range of new business models. They help reduce costs based on platform solutions, introduce the principles of lean manufacturing and significantly increase labor productivity," Putin specified.

He added that as for public administration, AI technology made it possible to fully automate more processes and speed up decision-making. "That said, it helps dramatically improve many areas that directly concern each and every citizen. These primarily include the urban environment, public transportation, public services, environmental protection, education and healthcare," the Russian president concluded.
