Task force deployed to Moscow’s Domodedovo airport to meet Russians evacuated from Gaza

There were 70 Russian citizens on board the Il-76 of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations

MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has deployed a task force to the Domodedovo airport outside Moscow to meet Russians that were evacuated from the Gaza Strip, said Alexander Korovin, an assistant to the emergency situations minister.

"A temporary accommodation center has been set up here, in Domodedovo. This work has been conducted by the Emergency Situations Ministry. We have a task force in Domodedovo. And it is at work. Because people have come from a hot climate, the Emergency Situations Ministry has made arrangements for clothing for the arriving children," he told reporters.

An IL-76 airplane has landed at the Domodedovo airport, bringing the first group of Russians from Cairo after they left Gaza through the Rafah crossing. They were accompanied by the ministry’s medical staff and psychologists during the flight. The plane departed from the Cairo airport on Monday afternoon.

The work to evacuate Russians from the Gaza Strip has been conducted by the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry together with Russian diplomats. The first group of Russians passed the Rafah crossing into Egypt on November 12. A total of 169 Russians have passed through the crossing over the past two days. Russian Emergency Situation Ministry staff met them at the border and provided them with medical and psychological assistance.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova earlier said that more than 1,000 people have signed up for evacuation from the Gaza Strip, including "Russian nationals, compatriots, and 300 minors.".
