Moscow kicks off COVID-19 booster campaign

According to the mayor, one can be revaccinated with any jab registered in Russia

MOSCOW, July 1. /TASS/. Moscow’s residents will be able to get COVID-19 vaccine booster shots starting from Thursday, July 1, in one of the eight Healthy Moscow pavilions. Citizens will be able to sign up for revaccination in outpatient clinics from July 5, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced on Thursday.

"Starting from today, July 1, 2021, one can be revaccinated in one of the eight Healthy Moscow pavilions. Registration for revaccination will open in 12 outpatient clinics starting from July 5, 2021," he wrote in a blog post.

According to the mayor, one can be revaccinated with any jab registered in Russia. Currently, Sputnik V (two doses) or the new single-dose Sputnik Light vaccine are available in Moscow. One can choose any of them, regardless of what shot a person was inoculated with for the first time, he explained.

"Please, do not neglect this opportunity to receive additional protection from the virus. This is very important amid the spread of the more aggressive Delta strain, because of which many people have a more severe form of the disease," Sobyanin stressed.

Meanwhile, a massive vaccination drive is underway in Moscow. Any person over 18 years of age can be immunized against COVID-19 at more than 119 vaccination sites. One can also get inoculated in popular public places where mobile teams work, the Healthy Moscow pavilions and seven My Documents offices.
