Russia, Cuba interact in field of security — senior diplomat

Sergey Ryabkov stressed that in October 2025, Moscow heard the statements of the US that the treaties between Moscow and Havana on military and military-technical cooperation allegedly posed a threat to the national security of the US

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Russia and Cuba maintain cooperation in various fields, including security, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told TASS Analytical Center.

"We cooperate with Cuba in various fields, the area of security is no exception. We recall the events that have taken place over the decades and escalated the situation at the global level to the extreme degree. Now we can see how, under the current administration [of the US], the Monroe doctrine, which was developed long ago, has been officially adopted. Nevertheless, they have dusted it off," the senior diplomat noted.

Ryabkov stressed that in October 2025, Moscow heard the statements of the US that the treaties between Moscow and Havana on military and military-technical cooperation allegedly posed a threat to the national security of the US. "In doing so, Washington is demonstrating not just double standards, but a rejection of any standards that might be possible in this sphere," the deputy foreign minister added.
