No place in future security architecture for an anti-Russian OSCE — senior diplomat

According to Vladislav Maslennikov, the organization is facing the deepest crisis provoked by the shortsighted policy course pursued by Western countries

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. There can be no place for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in the future Eurasian security architecture as long as it is influenced by the anti-Russian attitude, Vladislav Maslennikov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s department of European affairs, told TASS in an interview.

"In the context of what is happening in Ukraine, our foes seek to transform the OSCE into an instrument of confrontation with Russia. I doubt the OSCE will find a place for itself in today’s Eurasian security architecture with such an attitude," the senior Russian diplomat said.

According to him, the organization, now in its more than 50th year, "is facing the deepest crisis provoked by the shortsighted policy course pursued by Western countries that have always sought to use the organization’s capabilities and resources to serve the narrow interests of the EU and NATO."
