Global South believes Ukraine talks minus Russia futile — Lavrov

The Russian Foreign Minister described the position of the Global South as "an important message"

MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. Almost all countries of the Global South being invited by the West to meetings on resolving the Ukraine crisis want to drive home the idea that holding talks without Russia would be pointless, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters.

"We know, and I’ve already talked about this today, that almost everybody being invited there from the Global South <...> says that they simply want to listen and get through to the organizers that doing this without Russia would be senseless," he said.

Lavrov described the position of the Global South as "an important message." However, "they (Western countries - TASS) are eager to make every effort to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia," and won’t listen to that message, he lamented.
