Russian embassy in UK slams cartoons related to Crocus City Hall attack

The diplomatic mission underscored that using a terrorist attack for political point-scoring was insensitive and immoral

LONDON, April 1. /TASS/. It’s immoral to use the terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall outside Moscow to score political points, the Russian embassy in London said, commenting on cartoons published in British newspapers.

"As Russia mourned, the tragedy at Crocus City Hall was cynically presented as a theme for caricatures in UK papers, including the Guardian. Whatever the spin, using a terrorist attack for political point-scoring is insensitive and immoral. Or is it ok just because it's about Russians? Those claiming high moral ground should know better," the embassy said on X.

Earlier, the Guardian published several cartoons making fun of the Russian authorities’ statements about Ukraine’s involvement in the Crocus City Hall attack.

On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack targeted the Crocus City Hall music venue in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, just outside the Moscow city limits. According to the latest data, 144 people were killed and 551 suffered injuries. The Russian Investigative Committee said that evidence had been found of the attackers’ links to Ukrainian nationalists.
