US burying ‘minuscule chances’ of stabilizing Russia-US relations — ambassador

Anatoly Antonov said that to force opponents at the Capitol Hill to agree to new multi-billion-dollar appropriations to support the ‘Ukrainian project’, even despite the growing awareness in America of its collapse."

WASHINGTON, February 23. /TASS/. The United States is burying "minuscule chances" regarding the stabilization of Russian-US relations, Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said in a statement.

"It is also obvious that while demonstrating the infamous ‘determination and leadership’ in attempts to strike at Russia, the White House is trying to solve internal problems," Antonov said. "To force opponents at the Capitol Hill to agree to new multi-billion-dollar appropriations to support the ‘Ukrainian project’, even despite the growing awareness in America of its collapse."

"Not to mention the fact that by its own actions the administration is burying all those minuscule chances that could still be hoped for in terms of the hypothetical stabilization of Russian-American relations," the diplomat stressed.

Antonov said that by declaring its intention to "punish" us, Washington is pursuing the goal "of diverting the attention of its own taxpayers and voters from the true state of affairs regarding the conflict in the distant European space" and making them forget about the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, "despite all the much-praised weapons supplied by the West," as well as about Ukrainian troops’ rout from Avdeyevka.

"And most importantly - about the crimes of the puppet regime, which organizes brutal terrorist attacks and does not even try to hide it. Such as the indiscriminate rocket attacks on hospitals, schools, logistics infrastructure, and even Ukrainian prisoners of war," the ambassador added.

Antonov emphasized that the United States does not "want to admit the bloody deeds of their ‘clients’.".
