Ukraine loses roughly 60 troops near Kherson in past day, Russian military reports

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the battlegroup’s personnel are carrying on with active fighting

MOSCOW, December 29. /TASS/. Ukrainian military losses amounted to roughly 60 troops in the Kherson direction in the pat day, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Airborne units of [Russia’s] Battlegroup Dnepr destroy Ukrainian manpower and military equipment near the Kherson front line of the special military operation on a daily basis. <…> In the past 24 hours alone, the enemy sustained roughly 60 casualties in the Kherson direction. And the battlegroup’s personnel are carrying on with active fighting," the ministry said in a statement.

In order to detect and wipe out the enemy in the island area of the delta of the Dnieper River, where Ukrainian formations are trying to hide, Russian air assault teams have to clear minefields as Ukrainians remotely lay mines along the entire left bank of the Dnieper River, the Russian military specified.

"Best geared for combat in hard-to-access and key sectors [of the line of engagement], units of the Russian Airborne Troops have been pushing the enemy to the starting lines and providing fire support to all Russian formations and units in left-bank areas," the Russian defense agency specified.

"We are working jointly with infantry and heavy armor, namely tanks and IFVs. Artillery as well as Lantset and FPV drone crews are also providing their support as they destroy enemy convoys, artillery and personnel during their attempts at rotation on the right bank," Russia’s Defense Ministry quoted a deputy commander of a reconnaissance company at an airborne unit with call sign Zenit.
