MOSCOW, December 6. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will hold talks in Moscow on Thursday to discuss trade and economic cooperation, including in the energy sector, the Kremlin said in a statement.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks in Moscow on December 7 with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, who will arrive in Russia on a working visit," the statement said. "It is planned to substantively consider the current agenda of bilateral cooperation with a focus on the implementation of promising joint projects in the trade and economic area, including transport and energy."
"It is also planned to exchange views on major international and regional issues," the statement said.
Putin and Raisi last met in September 2022 in Uzbekistan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. The leaders held bilateral talks, noting, among other things, that Moscow’s and Tehran's positions on many international issues were close or identical, and cooperation between the two countries continued to develop in all areas.
