"Of course, we are counting on the fact that the process of getting our fellow citizens out of the Gaza Strip will continue, with everyone who wants to being able to leave the Gaza Strip. This does not mean that the efforts of our diplomats are over, on the contrary, this process is accompanied by very hard work. There is still a lot to be done to ensure that everyone who wants to leave Gaza is able to do so," the Kremlin spokesman said.

In this regard, Peskov pointed out that the Kremlin is grateful for the assistance provided to the Russian authorities by all parties involved in the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip. "We appreciate the fact that <…> the considerable efforts of our diplomats and emergency workers, those relevant services in contact with relevant parties <...> have yielded results. We welcome the assistance that these relevant parties have given us," he added.

The work to evacuate Russian citizens trapped in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone from the Gaza Strip was organized by the Russian Emergencies Ministry together with Russian diplomats. On Sunday, the first Russian citizens crossed the Rafah checkpoint into Egyptian territory. A total of 70 Russian citizens crossed the checkpoint, including 28 children. Russian emergency workers met all the Russians and provided them with medical and psychological assistance.

On Monday, Daniil Martynov, adviser to the Russian Emergencies Minister, said at the operational headquarters in Cairo that members of the agency's task force were preparing to go to the Rafah checkpoint on the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip to evacuate another group of 90-100 Russians from the enclave.
