MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. The Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) is working proactively to prevent possible attempts to meddle in the presidential election scheduled for 2024, Ella Pamfilova, who heads the CEC, said on Tuesday.
"The presidential election is the most important political event, the concentration, the solar plexus of all political processes in the country. Can you imagine the attention, the great desire of our enemies to disrupt or rig the election. That is why we are fully prepared, focused and work proactively," Pamfilova told the Rossiya-24 television channel, following the President's address to the Federal Assembly.
The CEC head stressed that the commission continues to work on digitalization, transparency and other components of the election to increase citizens' confidence in the electoral process and results.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his address to the Federal Assembly on Tuesday that the elections scheduled for 2023-2024, including the presidential election, will be held in strict accordance with law and in compliance with all democratic procedures.
