Gazprom working on new gas contract with Serbia — Novak

According to the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, the issue have already been discussed at the presidential level and all instructions have been given

MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. Gazprom is currently working on the terms of a new gas supply contract with Serbia, and the relevant directives have already been issued, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

"This was also discussed during the meeting with [Serbian President Aleksandar] Vucic, at the presidential level, and the appropriate instructions have been given. Gazprom is currently handling this," he stated.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic raised the issue of a new gas agreement during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on May 9. At that time, Vucic emphasized that the supply of Russian energy resources is critically important for Belgrade and expressed hope that deliveries would continue on favorable terms.
