Middle East conflict deprives Ukraine of missiles for Western air defenses — media

According to the report, supplies of air-defense missiles that Ukraine desperately would like for itself were being quickly consumed in the Middle East

NEW YORK, March 10. /TASS/. The conflict of the US and Israel with Iran has distracted Western countries from assisting Ukraine, cutting off supplies of new missiles for air defense systems to Kiev, The New York Times reported.

The publication notes that the conflict in the Middle East has affected new arms deliveries to Kiev. "Supplies of air-defense missiles that Ukraine desperately would like for itself were being quickly consumed in the Middle East," the news outlet points out.

The United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. Major Iranian cities, including Tehran, were struck. The White House justified the attack by citing alleged missile and nuclear threats from Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a retaliatory operation, targeting sites in Israel. US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE were also hit. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and some other key Iranian leaders were killed in the joint US-Israeli attack.
