Kiev’s role in Dugina’s killing shows risk of attacks against Russians high — Kremlin

Daria Dugina, a 29-year-old journalist, daughter of philosopher Alexander Dugin, died on the evening of August 20, 2022, when her car was blown up on Mozhaisk highway near the village of Bolshiye Vyazyomy, in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow Region

MOSCOW, January 24. /TASS/. Kiev's involvement in the killing of Daria Dugina and similar crimes testifies to the risk of assassination attempts against Russians, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media on Tuesday while commenting on reports that Ukraine and the United States had allegedly discussed an assassination attempt on the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin.

"We don't know. It's more of a question for the special services to answer. It's their competence," Peskov said when asked for a comment.

"But, as for assassination attempts, Ukraine is related to assassination attempts and this absolutely monstrous murder. Let's recall the assassination attempts that have taken place, let's recall the murder of Dugina and so on. Therefore, the involvement of the Kiev regime in such assassination attempts is obvious. Such a threat to our citizens does exist," Peskov added.

Earlier, Prigozhin himself said that he was aware of the reports Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky and the director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns, had discussed an attempt on his life.

Two days later, the federal security service FSB told TASS that Dugina's murder had been solved. It had been plotted by the Ukrainian special services and carried out by a citizen of Ukraine, Natalya Vovk. Later, the FSB said that involved in plotting Dugina’s killing, together with Vovk, was another member of a Ukrainian sabotage and terrorist group in Moscow, Ukrainian national Bogdan Tsyganenko.
