Torture in Donbass should not go unpunished, there should be tribunal — Kremlin

It is noted that the military tribunal to try war criminals who have committed atrocities in Donbass could take place

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. The torture of Donbass citizens by Ukraine can not go unpunished , so an international tribunal for war criminals must be held, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

"It (the military tribunal - TASS) must be held in the future, all this torture of the people of Donbass should not go unpunished," Peskov said, answering a question on whether a tribunal to try war criminals who have committed atrocities in Donbass could take place.

At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman did not comment on the introduction of sanctions against the leaders of the Association of Lawyers of Russia Sergey Stepashin and Vladimir Gruzdev, who said that their inclusion in the Kiev sanction list was due to the fact that they were the ones who initiated creating such a tribunal.

"This is not on the president's agenda. So I will refrain from commenting. These are probably not the first sanctions, and far from the last that will follow. This is not exactly the president's agenda," Peskov said.
