West deludes Zelensky into aching for Ukraine ‘victory’, says Russian diplomat

According to Russian Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov, the West’s statements that it is up to Ukraine to decide on the terms of a ceasefire reveal the utter ignorance of the actual situation on the ground

MOSCOW, May 23. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s position that Ukraine must win is being fueled by his Western string-pullers, Russian Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov said on Monday.

"He [Zelensky] keeps on saying the same thing, that Ukraine is winning. However, his recent rhetoric reveals a certain discrepancy. On the one hand, he is saying that a diplomatic solution is the way out of the crisis, but, on the other hand, he insists that Ukraine has to win," Chizhov said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel. "Naturally, this position is being stoked by his Western sponsors, who insist that Russia should lose, even those who don’t say that Ukraine must win. Obviously, they will be disappointed."

According to the Russian diplomat, the West’s statements that it is up to Ukraine to decide on the terms of a ceasefire reveal the utter ignorance of the actual situation on the ground.
