GORKI, February 1. /TASS/. Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has said he has been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.
"I was vaccinated two months ago with one of Russian vaccines," Medvedev told Russian media in an interview. He explained he did not disclose the name of the vaccine so as not create an impression one vaccine is better than the others.
"Vaccination is always a very personal affair. It takes blood tests and requires the understanding of the immunity status of your body (which depends on age, regrettably, and on gender - as is known, men have greater problems with getting through the coronavirus infection - and on a number of other factors)," Medvedev said. "All of our vaccines are effective and work well, but medics’ advice is crucial in selecting a particular one. Vaccination is necessary anyway."
He shared some details of how vaccination was made.
"Very calmly, with no consequences. But this also depends on each individual," he remarked.
How to survive the pandemic
As he dwelt on ways of living through the no simple pandemic period, Medvedev said that in his opinion "all of us experience the same problems."
"What are they? There have been far less opportunities to socialize and have contacts. It is necessary to make constant checks to understand what is happening to our health," he said, adding that it had to be acknowledged that the pandemic does not promote people-to-people contacts."
Medvedev admitted that his family had to follow the same restrictions in everyday life: "you can see friends more seldom, my son has less chances to meet his pals, and there are fewer chances to travel."
