Settlement in Russia’s Kursk Region shelled by Ukraine, Governor says

The adversary’s firing point was quickly suppressed, Roman Starovoyt specified

MOSCOW, June 17. /TASS/. The Gordeyevka settlement in the Kursk Region located not far from the border with Ukraine was shelled with no casualties or significant damage, the region’s Governor Roman Starovoyt reported on his Telegram channel on Friday.

"Today about five o’clock in the morning, the Gordeyevka settlement in the Korenevsky district near the border was shelled with mortars. The adversary’s firing point was quickly suppressed, there were no casualties and no significant damage," he wrote.

The governor specified that, according to preliminary information, windows had been knocked out in some houses. "The situation is fully controlled by our border guards and military," he added.

The Korenevsky district borders Ukraine’s Sumy Region in the south.
