Ukraine is shelling border villages in Russia’s Belgorod region — governor

A house and a garage were destroyed, Vyacheslav Gladkov informed

TASS, May 5. The border villages of Zhuravlevka and Nekhoteyevka in Russia's Belgorod region were shelled by Ukraine on Thursday. A house and a garage were destroyed, there were no casualties among the locals, the region’s governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on his Telegram channel.

"Ukraine continues shelling Zhuravlevka and Nekhoteevka. According to the report of the Voluntary People's Guard's duty group, a house and a garage were destroyed in Nekhoteyevka. There were no civilian casualties," Gladkov wrote.

The head of the region noted that at the time of publication of the report at 10:12 Moscow time the shelling of the villages was still going on. Gladkov promised to provide more information about the situation later.

The state of emergency was introduced in the villages on March 23 following the explosion of an artillery shell, fired from Ukraine. The explosion killed three local residents and damaged two dozen homes and cars. After repeated shelling, most locals was evacuated.
