MOSCOW, May 1. /TASS/. The Russian Emergencies Ministry confirmed hard landing of a Mil Mi-8 helicopter in Russia’s Trans-Baikal region, followed by fire, the department’s press service told TASS.
Earlier, a source told TASS that the helicopter made a hard landing, as a result of which one person died and five were injured.
"At 11:05 Moscow time, the Crisis Management Center of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergency Ministry for the Trans-Baikal region received a message about a hard landing of a MI-8 helicopter, followed by a fire. The causes of the incident are being specified," the press service said.
The helicopter capsized due to a gust of wind, a source in emergency services told TASS.
