US tech companies have to revise strategies in the environment of intensified competition

NEW YORK, August 13. /TASS/. China’s leadership in the sphere of artificial intelligence models with the open source code shocked Washington and Silicon Valley, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports.

Free models from DeepSeek, Alibaba and other companies attract users across the globe, the news outlet said. Chinese achievements in the AI sphere followed one after another this year, starting from the new R1 chatbot version from DeepSeek widely advertised in January.

All the models have versions the users can download and change free of charge, and this stimulates global; implementation of Chinese artificial intelligence technologies.

US tech companies have to revise strategies in the environment of intensified competition. OpenAI, the ChatGPT developer, revealed the first model with the open source code named gpt-oss in early August.
