Trump’s duties on Russian oil to worsen US ties with China, India — China Daily

"Many observers believe that Trump's threat of 'secondary tariffs' on Russian oil is only a bluff to try and put pressure on Moscow," the newspaper said

BEIJING, April 1. /TASS/. Potential restrictions of US President Donald Trump in respect of Russian oil will make contradictions more acute in interaction of the US with China and India, the China Daily newspaper said.

"Many observers believe that Trump's threat of 'secondary tariffs' on Russian oil is only a bluff to try and put pressure on Moscow. But if the threat materializes – the major Russian importers, including China and India, will bear the brunt of it, further straining trade relations between them and the US," the newspaper said.

Trump said earlier that Russian oil would be hit by restrictions if Russia does not agree to his deal on peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
