Russia’s vodka production up 3.1% in Q1, cognac output up 6.5%

The production of alcoholic beverages grew by 32.3% to 3.6 mln decaliters

MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. Vodka production in Russia rose by 3.1% in January-March 2024 year-on-year to 15.9 mln decaliters, while the production of cognac added 6.5% to 1.9 mln decaliters, the Federal Service for Control of Alcohol and Tobacco Markets (Rosalkogoltabakcontrol) reported.

Total alcoholic beverage production (excluding beer, beer drinks, cider, poiret, and mead) increased by 17.3% in Q1 2024 to 42.7 mln decaliters, including alcoholic beverages with a strength of more than 9% rising by 8.5% to 23.5 mln decalitres.

The production of grape wine, sparkling wine and liqueur wine climbed by 25.8% to 7.1 mln decaliters, by 42.7% to 3.2 mln decaliters, and by 36.4% to 379,500 decaliters, respectively.

The production of alcoholic beverages grew by 32.3% to 3.6 mln decaliters. Low-alcohol beverages production rose by 18.5% in the reporting period to 5.1 mln decaliters, while the production of other alcoholic beverages increased by 21.8% to 2 mln decaliters.

The production of grape-containing beverages without ethyl alcohol fell by 2.1% to 88,100 decaliters, while the production of grape-containing drinks with ethyl alcohol soared by 240.4% to 11,600 decaliters. The production of fruit alcoholic beverages gained 53.8% to 3 mln decaliters.
