Russian airlines ‘lost’ 76 planes due to sanctions, Transport Ministry says

Vitaly Savelyev recalled that there are currently 1,167 passenger aircraft in use in Russia

MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. Russia’s airlines have "lost" 76 planes over sanctions, Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev told journalists.

"We were caught off guard when they wanted to take the planes. In all, we lost 76 passenger planes which were either on a layover or were preparing for a flight, they were simply arrested," he said.

Savelyev reiterated that Russia is currently using 1,167 passenger aircraft.
