HAIKOU /China/, June 27. /TASS/. China Southern Airlines will launch business charter flights between the city of Sanya (southern Hainan province) and Hong Kong, according to Sanya Daily.
Flights on this route for business representatives will be launched by the airline in cooperation with the Sanya TCIG tourism corporation on June 28. Initially these charter flights will be operated twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The airline will fly A321 aircraft with 195 passenger seats.
According to TCIG, the launch of the new route is the first step for the corporation in creating an international airline network around Sanya. The corporation plans to further enhance cooperation with various Chinese and foreign airlines to expand its inbound tourism market.
The development of air transportation plays an important role in the Hainan Free Trade Port Project. Its program was presented in June 2020. It envisages turning the island into a special customs zone. The national government expects to finalize the free port project by 2025, when the island will have established a system to ensure free trade and investment.
By 2035 the free port and its model will take more advanced forms. By that time, Hainan will have freedom of trade and investment, cross-border movement of capital, inbound and outbound movement of people, and freight transportation.
