Grain trader Viterra announces termination of export activities in Russia

The company is currently considering the possibility of transferring Russian assets to new owners

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Grain trader Viterra Limited will cease export activities in Russia from July 1, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture told TASS.

"The Russian Ministry of Agriculture received a notification from Viterra Limited about the termination of export activities from July 1, 2023. The company is currently considering the possibility of transferring Russian assets to new owners," the ministry said.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Viterra's exit from the market will have no impact on Russian grain exports - all transshipment capacities will be preserved and will continue to operate as normal. The ministry added that the Russian market is open to all conscientious foreign companies whose work is aimed at developing the export opportunities of the domestic agro-industrial complex. "At the same time, this sector is highly competitive, and Russian players are ready to fill vacant niches quickly," the ministry said.
